The Fairfield Ludlowe Wrestling team is a varsity sport for Fairfield Ludlowe High School which is part of the Fairfield Inter-athletic Conference (FCIAC) and the CT. Inter-athletic Conference (CIAC). Wrestling is a winter sport. The season starts the Monday after Thanksgiving and lasts three months. The end is marked by the New England Wrestling Tournament which is usually the first weekend in March. The season is made up of dual meet and multy dual matches against opposing CIAC schools. These matches usually take place on Wednesday and Saturdays. In February we also compete in the FCIAC Tournament the State Class Tournament the State Open Tournament and the New England Tournament.

Wrestling is both an individual and team sport. It gives boys the opportunity to win state honors as an individual and team level. There are 14 weight classes starting at 103 pounds and ending at 275 pounds. Wrestling gives all size boys the opportunity to compete against boys there own size. The weight classes are 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, and 275. Wrestling is both a very physical and tactical sport with many techniques and moves to learn. It teaches boys to learn how to overcome obstacles and never give up. It also teaches them there are many ways to win and overcome obstacles.
