Summary:

Nick has 30 years of wrestling experience as a competitor and coach. He was a Varsity Wrestler at Staples High School in Westport Ct from 1976-77. In 1976 Staples was FCIAC Tournament Champions and Runner Up in 77. They also Placed 2nd in The State LL Tournament in both years.  

In college Nick Wrestled at University of Lowell 1979 and University of Bridgeport 1981. He continued Competing after College in USA Freestyle Tournaments up until 1993, he has won and placed in many tournaments. He took Second in the Ct Nutmeg games in the Open Division in the 1993.

In 1983-84 Nick became the assistant Wrestling Coach at Staples High School . From 1985-93 Nick became the Head Wrestling Coach at Staples High. During this time Staples won the FCIAC Championship in 1985, won the Class L State Championship 1990, won runner up Class L in 1991. They placed 6th in the New England Tournament in 1990. They won 10 FCIAC East Titles, finished runner up in FCIAC Tournament 6 times. The team placed second in the State Open Tournament 2 times, 1990 and 91. Nick has coached many County and State and New England place winners and Champions.

In 1994-2004 Nick was a coach for Westport PAL Wrestling and then was a coach for the Fairfield PAL Wrestling.

In 2004 when Ludlowe opened Nick became the Head Coach of Ludlowe Wrestling. In 2004-05 Ludlowe was 4-16. In 2005-06 they improved to 12-12 and finished 7th in the FCIAC.

Skip’s expertise is working one on one with talented wrestlers and developing them into great wrestlers. Although he is a all around great team coach he has a knack for teaching in a one on one environment. 

Summary:

Skip has 25 years of wrestling experience as a competitor and coach combined. Skip wrestled at Staples High from 1977-79. He was a two time varsity wrestler. He was a  County and State place winner and Co-Captain in 1979. In College he wrestled at the University of Maryland .   

He was the Roger Ludlowe and then the Fairfield High Head Coach from 1985-90. Under his leadership the program went from a loosing program to a consistent winner. His presents made an immediate impact on the team. They quickly improved to one of the top teams in the County and finished 3rd in the county in 1988. He coached several New England and many State and County place winners. He was an Assistant Coach at Staples High from 1991-92 and was instrumental in helping Staples place 6th in the New England Tournament in 1991.

Summary:

Rob Lawrence wrestled at Staples High School from 1988-89. He was a two time County, State and State Open Place Winner. His Senior year he placed 5th in the New England Tournament. This is quite excellent for only having two years of wrestling experience. Rob was Tri-Captain his Senior year. Also in his senior year the Staples won the L State Championship and were State open runner-ups. The following year he was an assistant coach with Staples. He was instrumental in helping coach that team to a 6th Place in the New England Tournament. Rob wrestled at Western New England College and was varsity his first year. Rob is an excellent technician and coach.
